Our Approach

put lgbtiqa+ inclusion on  the local agenda

We combine two rainbow road-tested models that create LGBTIQA+ inclusion: in communities and inside the places that shape them.

Place-Based
in the community

Starting with a “Cuppa Consultation”, we listen to locals to understand what's most important for LGBTIQA+ inclusion. Together we map strengths, identify gaps and co-design an everyday action plan grounded in local lived experience.

Setting-Based

We partner councils, schools, health services, community groups and businesses. Strategy reviews, training and mentoring is the foundation for creating safer, more supportive, welcoming and inclusive settings for LGBTIQA+ people.

Our Process

PARTNERING, CAPACITY BUILDING & EVERYDAY ACTION PLANNING

We combine two rainbow road-tested models that create LGBTIQA+ inclusion: in communities and inside the places that shape them.

Where we start

We start everything with a cuppa to listen, learn and better understand your experiences, through space-making, sense-making and rejecting a rural deficit approach. We’ll assess your local LGBTIQA+ inclusion readiness, conduct a quick scan of your LGBTIQA+ strengths and share what’s worked in other communities like yours.

We bring together local lived experience and key stakeholders with our two road-tested processes: (1) LGBTIQA+ Mapping where locals assess everyday inclusion, what’s working and what needs to happen next; and (2) the Rainbow Ready Roadmap for mainstream services, settings and spaces on their LGBTIQA+ journey.

Where We act

Putting Pride on the Map

From bustling regional hubs to tiny outback roadhouses, more than 340,000 LGBTIQA+ Australians live outside our capital cities. We go wherever they are, because postcode should never decide who feels safe or celebrated.

Did You Know?

The most common hope for LGBTIQA+ people living outside the big smoke is to feel safe, supported, welcome and included wherever they live.

In close-knit towns, attitudes can help or harm. Our kitchen-table conversations map each town’s strengths and turn them into quick, practical wins for main street and the local footy club.

Did You Know?

Everyday LGBTIQA+ lives can be saved and changed with minimal, strategic LGBTIQA+ investment and a small group working together. You could be part of that change.

In close-knit towns, attitudes can help or harm. Our kitchen-table conversations map each town’s strengths and turn them into quick, practical wins for main street and the local footy club.

Did You Know?

Some LGBTIQA+ drive six-hours to connect with LGBTIQA+ community, access a safe service or to simply be themselves away from the "rural spotlight".

Distance magnifies isolation and service gaps. We travel on-country to deliver training, ally workshops and story-sharing that prove pride belongs everywhere.
