Rainbow Ready Roadmap

The Rainbow Ready roadmap is a resource for Victorian rural and regional communities to foster LGBTIQA+ inclusion, supporting the Victorian Government’s Pride in our future: Victoria’s LGBTIQA+ strategy 2022–32.

Developed through extensive consultation, it addresses challenges facing LGBTIQA+ people in rural and regional areas, who experience higher rates of family violence and mental health issues and are more likely to report poorer health.

With tailored guides and practical tools, the Rainbow Ready roadmap empowers communities to drive local change and ultimately attain Rainbow Ready status, signifying they are safe, welcoming and inclusive for LGBTIQA+ people.

The Steps

The Rainbow Ready Roadmap is planned into six stages. At each stage, it’s crucial for local LGBTIQA+ community voices to be heard and reflected.

To what extent is your current local work with LGBTIQA+ communities being led by or hearing directly from the individuals and groups you are trying to support?
